I cant seem to figure this thing out. Its a 91 hatch with a red top in it. Auto-manual swap also. The fuel pump isnt turning on. The engine turns over and everything else works fine. If anyone has any ideas please help me out.

Thanks

Are you sure the pump is wired correctly? Have you checked the fuel pump relay to see if it's blown?

Its the stock pump, we switched the relays under the hood with another set. Still nothing. Could the auto transmission have something to do with it? Thanks alot guys, if you have anymore suggestions let me know.

Also, quiksilvia, do you have an intercooler amist all thoes parts? Thanks

Did you do the wiring yourself? Make sure that you have the harness plug in the ecu, i mean tighten it down with the screw in the middle and remember to check the black/pink wire of the fuel pump. Try that because I've been there. Just thought it would help.

Did you do the wiring your self? Did you connect up the wires by the battery correctly? I had the same problem and this was the case. I know the SR harnesses by the battery plug in, but they are wrong.

I had this same issue with my wahlbro pump. It turned out to be a badly spliced wire in the tank. A very easy fix.

If you put the pump in the tank yourself, don't exclude that area when you look for wiring problems.

This car is a buddys of mine, we cant figure it out for anything. MIns still in the shop. It seems like the fuse box on the intake side isnt getting power. The pump worked before he started. Anyone out there who did the auto-manual swap give me some tips. I dont know how diff the wiring is, but hes had a hell of a time. I will check the pink and black wires, thanks. Keep the suggestions coming, process of elimination sucks.

Keep em comin.

Touch down, yea im up in CDA, my brothers at UofI also, I go down there a few times a month. What do you have done to your car? There are a bunch of 240's up here but there all stock, My buddy and I are the only two guys up here with swaps, its cool.

Haven't done a whole lot of performance mods to my car, cuz I'm on a short budget w/ college and all. I have spent around $800 getting it back to stock specs though, and a little more to go. It would be cool to turbo the KA that's in there, though, but everything costs money.

I had the same problem with my walbro. I initially soldered the connections, and it would blow 10A fuses. Put in a 15A, blew that too. Pulled it out, and used the crimps that were included and put a 10A back in the fuse box for the fuel pump, and it works just fine. Check your fuse, then check the wiring.

Everyone I have talked to has said not to solder the connections, but use crimps. Don't know why, maybe corrosion?

my friend is going thru the same problem. 89 hatch with red top sr20, auto - manual conversion. wouldn't turn on with stock pump so we put in a walbro, still no luck. fuses are fine. we have checked the wiring many times back to front. I'll send him this link.

yes I would be tourings friend, it is wired correctly... cause I hooked a 12 volt power source to the wire in the battery tray wiring area and it came right on. the fuse and relays are fine, so thru the process of elimination, after the fuse box it goes to the ecu ecu is tightened down all the way so only thing I can think of is the ecu is busted and not sending power to that wire...

Well, we went thru the wiring two more times and still no luck, I've offered to try my ECU but were not convinced that would help. He is going to run a switch to turn the pump on and off for now. Its gheto but its getting old. Someday we'll get it working.
