I'm having an odd problem with my car. When I put the key to the "on" position, the fuel pump begins priming and won't stop. I mean, I can leave it there fore a minute and it'll keep on priming. Anyone know the cause of this?

Also, will the constitute to flooding the engine?

it won't flood the engine unless your injectors are open. have you checked to make sure the fpr's not stuck open?

What car/engine is it and is there any history leading up to this?

shouldnt matter, i believe its supposed to pump for 5 seconds and then turn the pump off if the flywheel isnt turning.

I purchased a Walbro fuel pump. Will go over the wiring to make sure that it wasn't ghetto rigged...

I was under the impression it primes until the right pressure is built up in the system

No - the ecu just has a set time for which to prime it.
