my fuel pump all of a sudden started making this whine. its real loud. it was running fine with no sound, then all of a sudden, on the way back from vegas, i noticed my pump whinning. alot say that the pump whining is normal but for 6 months it wasnt whining, why would it start now? does this mean its going out or what? its a walbro 255, installed on feburary 2010. ill post up video early in the morning on the whine.

they are typically somewhat loud, make sure you keep at least 1/2 tank of gas. Since it is a stronger pump it has a higher tendency to burn out if it does not have enough fuel saturation to dissipate its heat.

ok, today i went outside to record the whine but i guess my car was somewhat happy (no noise). ;D i guess fuel pump was hot and started to whine. ill take om3ga advice and keep tank at least 1/2 tank of gas from now on. on the trip i was filling it up when it was 1/4 full. maybe that was the reason. oh well, now i know. :shifter:
