I am having a problem with my 2000 Max. When I mash on the gas it kinda falls all over itself and just feels like it has an anchor on it, well I have been told it is probaly a fuel pump issue but now I am reading it could be the pressure regulator. How do I test to see wich one it is or do I just change them both or does my car even have a regulator?

I have not been able to work on it any to check anything out as of yet but my car threw a code the other day saying a problem with the egr valve so I have to check out the egr valve first before going any further. I am hoping it is just the egr valve and not the fuel pump.I am not sure where to get the Megan pressure regulator, sorry.

check the EGR first, the fuel pump is a bit of a pain in the ars. Get a Hanes Manual.

my problem happened to be the fuel pump, i took a chance and just replaced it before checking he EGR and got lucky i guess.

keep us posted!

Why cant they make an egr valve for this car thats not so damn expensive? Do I check the egr valve with an ohmmeter the way the manual says across the pins?

I am pretty sure there is an EGR Actuator switch you can check.

Where is this actuator switch? I also looked and I didnt see a pipe to clean out on the egr valve, it all looks electronic.

The pipe should be attached to the back of upper intake manifold

You will need the floor shop manual to work on the switch
