I searched and didn't find anything. In about a month I am going to be installing a CA18DET, it will have a 2.5inch exhaust/megan downpipe, Megasquirt v2.2 or II v3 (which means BOV and no MAF) and a K&N Cone Filter. I have a 5month old stock replacement fuel pump. Would it be okay to run the fuel pump as is or do I HAVE to upgrade to a Walbro 255LPH Unit and if I had to upgrade to I need a FPR or not? My budget is a bit tight and if I can get away with just leaving it stock other than those previously mentioned mods (which I have to do, it has no wiring harness, I already have a race exhaust installed etc). Thanks.

You are buying an entire motorset where it will cost you $2000+ to actually get it in and running but won't drop $90 on a fuel pump? ...I don't get it.

I threw my rod on my KA and well single cam KA's arent cheap or easy to find in my area so I traded a half-stack for a CA18DET that needs a basic rebuild. I am looking for a transmission right now and will be running Megasquirt v2 PCB3 on it. I will be pushing my budget tight but not too tight. If some worst case scenario things happen I might not have quite enough and thats why I was wondering if a stock pump is okay for stock boost.

I have a Q45 fuel pump you can use. It flows better than a walbro, just louder. Not trying to sell it to you just trying to help you out.

How much would you wan't for it shipped to 40013? Just curious. I've always been the kind of person to use OE parts as an upgrade to cut some costs here and there.

Also might I ask, could you possible link or describe what is needed to do the KA24E MAF mod you have listed that you did to yours? I assume you would need to chip the ECU and program it via Live Edit or something, or I could be way off. I was going to go Stand-Alone since I don't have a MAF and some other things but I'm notcing most the parts I lack are easily obtainable from other sources the more I research.

You do not need a reflash to use the ka maf.

just put out the cash for a walbro, that way you won't have to upgrade it later on.

PnP on the ka24e maf, but u "may" need safc for fine tuning. I am using my adj fpr for that right now until I can get one and hit the dyno but the car seems to run fine. No rechipping like stated by oversteer180. FedEx ground is 7.15 but USPS may be cheaper. From what I know, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the Q45 fuel pump is the same fuel pump used by the twin turbo z. Do your research on the pump though. Normally, a buildup of debris on the pump blades makes it run a little noisy. If ur willing to try it then cool

Can't be any louder than my walbro... You can hear it from outside the car and 10ft away if its quiet outside.

I use a walbro 255 on my b13 and s13 and both are very quite. The walbro in my b13 isn't even mounted with the "sponge" and it's still quite. At least to me. The Q45 pump is definitely a bit louder. It flows more than the walbro but noticably noiser. Great upgrade though.
