I've been arguing with Nissan on their main facebook page as well as their Versa page. I'm sure it won't do any good.
I have a 2008, and after having starting and acceleration issues, as well as having the engine completely cut out while I was driving (thankfully no other cars were on the road at the time), I perused the internet. Come to find out, not only is this a common issue, but Nissan knows about it. There is a Technical Service Bulletin on it. No recall tho. Contact the dealer, they say call Nissan. Contact Nissan, they say call the dealer.
The part from Nissan is over $400. I've found one online for $329, but that's the cheapest I've been able to find so far.
I've commented on Nissan's fb page looking for others who might be interested in a class action. This is a dangerous defect that should be recalled. I've seen posts where people have had to replace theirs several times!! What happens if the engine cuts out while we are pulling into busy traffic? Apparently someone has to get seriously injured or worse before Nissan will react to it.
