Hey guys Im new here. I have an s13 with an SR, t28 and some other stuff. Ive had this intermittent problem with my fuel pump. When I first bought the car it NEVER happened only began in the last month or so. While driving the fuel pump will randomly cut out and some days it wont turn on at all. The only way I can drive the car is I have a jump wire going from the white wire on the top hat straight to my battery. I don't understand how some days it works for 30min then stops and then some days it doesn't work at all. I JUST installed a new 255lph fuel pump. Any suggestion or ideas of what it could be? I need a new ignition because sometimes when i turn the key the car just makes a click noise then you jiggle the key a whole bunch and it'll crank. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I'm about to run it to a switch to my dash if I cant find a solution or Ill replace the wire in the harness. Thank you in advance guys!

your on the rite track and dont even know it bro..the relay is bad..change it and it should solve your issue..as for the ignition..there is a harness on the back of it and its held in by 2 cheep tabs..just tap them closed again that should help your contactors mate better..good luck and keep us posted.

and you changed the relay? and looked at the ignition harness?..if so..go to a Autozone (Vatozone) nearest you..or autoparts store that loans tools and get a fuel pressure testing kit..test to see if your pump is delivering the fuel needed for the car to run..should be 35 psi+ pressure...get back to us again.

ohh..and see if you can barrow a friends coil..sometimes when coils go bad, they heat up inside and just randomly shut the car off..then 10 mins later..you can start it again and it will do the same thing...the altinators voltage regulator can do the same thing as the coil when it goes too..

Ok so since th last post I haven't tried much of the problem. Though I took off the column cover to expose the ignition and saw no tabs. Any direction to where they are? I think the key cylinder itself is shot the key jingles in it allot although you can't pull it out when the cars on or start it with a screw driver or any of that. The fuel pump is still on an off and I'm running the jump wire still. I've looked for grounds in the quarter because I was told to by a guy from Tarmac a performance for those who know them in LI. I'm stuck

i dont think its an ignition problem in the colum..your saying you have the fuel pump jumped with a wire?..so you know the fuel pump is working forshure?...if so..swapp coils and take your altinator down and have it tested under load..get back to us.
