fuel pump

Hey everyone. New to the forum. Have been loaned my grandparents 720. I love this truck. Recently it has come into a lot of problems though. Had turn signal fail, fuel filter need replacing, simple stuff. When I start the truck it turns over fine, but dies seconds later. When the vehicle dies you can hear the fuel pump shutter. I am assuming that it is the fuel pump by location of the shutter.
Is this a difficult fix and sumthing that I can do myself? I have experience fixing vehicles just not this one, and am looking for a bit of advice.

None of the older Datsuns are very difficult to work on. The 720 is no exception. Our Datsun Moderator "PEZi" drives and races a 720. He'll hook you up with any advice you'll need.

We do not have the FSM for this particular model but there are several used copies at Amazon for less than $10. Good luck!
