fuel pump?

my car doesn't want to start up..it does sometimes i'll crank it and it'll want to start but won't...i'm guessing it's the fuel pump?

when you put the car into the #3 position, do you hear the fuel pump go? did you also check the fuel pump fuse? how about some background on it, like how many miles, any history of fuel pumps going out, etc.

no i don't hear the fuel pump turn on....the car has alot of miles on it.....and sometimes it would start but just for a second and shut off...so i'm guessing it's because it's ready to give up...i checked the fuel pump fuse already it's still good

Yeah I'd give the old fuel pump the heave ho and toss in a new one.
