1989 hatchback with blacktop s13 sr20det. About 7 months running with 12k miles since running swap. I'm on my second second fuel pump about 10k miles on it. The first one crap out on wot causing leaning condition.

About 4 weeks ago. One morning the car wouldn't start. Could not hear the fuel pump prime. Did not have any tools at the time. I could only check the fuse and it was good. So 8 hrs later coming back from work with my tools. My car started up fine. So I didn't worry and thought it was a one time thing.

2 weeks later it happen again but while driving. However the car started fine. Couples of days later it happen again but it was in my drive way at idle. I just shake the relay and fuse and it started right up. So I replace the relay, fuse, and bend the tab in the fuse closer for better contact. Next day it happen again but it started right up.

So yesterday and today it happen again. At first it would just crank but could not hear the fuel pump prime. Then after a min or so it would start up fine.

So my problem is the fuel pump shuting off at times and it won't start till about 1 min later

Any thought. I looked at the wire diagram the fuse power the relay then go to the smj ( small massive junction. By the clutch pedal) then power the fuel pump.

I might just replace the walboro fuel pump if it happen again
