It's time. '94 Q45 with a LOUDLY humming fuel pump... thanks to all for the great articles and step-by-step instructions. Infiniti of Denver quoted $1,000 to do the job, so this will be a DIY project for me.

I was amazed at the price range for fuel pumps...

Infiniti of Denver: $375.00, $15.00 for the O-RingMike Ward Infiniti: $340.54, $9.18Infiniti of Scottsdale: $255.41, $6.89

Anyway, thanks again to all for the great posts. I'm actually not to scared of this job now.

Glad to help, hope everything goes well..

Couple of pointers (aka those "dont ask me how i know" things)

Be very gentle taking the pump out, the fuel gauge sender is easy to mess up

dont overtighten the screws putting the fuel pump back on, they're easy to strip out and break. Make sure you dont lose any of the tiny washers.

Ideally leave the doors and trunk open overnight, you shouldnt have too much fuel smell!

good luck!
