Fuel Pump replacement

We have a 1986 Nissan 300ZX and it needs a fuel pump, but a replacement is $240 and thats too much for what we use it for as a school. Are there any other fuel pumps that can replace the old one that isn't the real pump? Maybe even a universal thats pretty cheap?

Check local junk yards or have you tried Advance Auto/Auto Zone? I'm not sure if there's an aftermarket available, but I'm sure if you call some places you'll be able to get some more info or find a used one. You might even want to call Z1 Motorsports, they have used parts sometimes.. Worst they could say is no.
Also courtesy Nissan is a dealership, but they have really good prices on OEM stuff and a well put together website so you can find the parts yourself, give that a shot too
We have a classifieds section here as well, look for a part-out car and see if you can get the fuel pump from it

Hit ebay, there are a number of off brand pumps that can be had cheap, walbro or similar.

Walbro is pretty cheap. ConceptZ is having a sale last I saw. Some of them are only like $120, and they are great quality!
