Hey luis what is the issue with your car?Right now I'm looking for my fuel pump relay because I am not getting any fuel sent to the injectors but the fuel pump works.

my problem is kinda strange, my car will die as soon as it starts, it wont stay on even if i push on the gas, its like the fuel is not making it to the injectors, i started reading the FSM and it says that the ecu sends a 1 sec signal to the fuel pump and then the ecu recieves a signal from the CAS in order to send a signal to the fuel pump relay, so i've checked the fuel pump fuse but im not sure which one is the fuel pump relay...

i've check the fuel pressure before and after the fuel filter, and the fuel pressure regulator, at the fuel line, I did not use a gauge but there was definetely a lot of pressure,

do you know if there is a sensor that can do this??

any help is appreciatedthanks

Best thing to do to check fuel pressure is buy a cheap gauge and inline T adapter. Put it in between the fuel filter and fuel rail to check for pressure. It should be about 34psi with vaccuum hooked up.

As far as where the relay is located, I know it's not by the battery, unless you have an S13. I have a 95, and I've been told that mine is by the drivers side kick panel fuse box, I still don't know for sure though. Can anyone confirm this?

Has the engine ran before in your car? If not, you might find the problem in the interface harness with a mis-pinned wire. I had the same problem, fuel pump worked but wouldn't turn on when the car was switched to on. Find the relay, pull it and check with a volt meter to find the constant, switched and signal wires(there should be 4 or 5 wires into that relay). The Signal wire should give power to the relay when the car is switched on, constant and switched, well that's self explanatory, there should also be 1 ground and the lead going to the FP. Jump the lead to the FP and the constant and see if the FP turns on. If so, there might be a mis-pinned wire...

Goodluck

On the S14 the FP relay is behind the driver's side kick panel, mounted with 2 other relays closest to the door.

Can you hear the pump prime continuously or just for a few seconds? It should just be a few seconds when you turn the key to on. If your fuel pressure isn't around 34, you have to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to turn it down/up.

My car was running at about 38psi, so I bought a nismo type A fpr and turned it down a few pounds, helped out a bit.

yeah i can hear it for few secs, would too much pressure cause my problem, cause i'd think that pressure i have now would be good enough to keep my motor on.thanks

I'm not sure if too much pressure would cause for not starting at all. For me the too much psi was causing my cold morning starts to take forever. I would have to crank and crank for about 30 secs.....when it finally got going, it would mis or sound like it was misfiring, like it was flooded because of too much fuel psi.

Jr_ss, do you know where in the FSM manual I can find the procedure to do that? Because I was looking for FUEL PUMP RELAY in there and it didn't tell me how to check the voltage on the relay, thanks.
