Should the fuel pump be silent, except why first starting car?Reason i ask is, i currently have the rear sun deck lid off and the hissing or buzzin whatever you wanna call it is very there. With driver and pass enger window 1/2 open goin 35mph or With the AC on 2 or even 3 is can hear it. Also the sound level is fluctuating. Before i removed the Rear deck(Replacing Speakers)... I could barely hear it...Should i be concerned. 82K no idea if ever replaced since new.

The pump is not silent and varies speed in 3 stages based on demand.

Useless to compare to previous unit until it is all buttoned up. If it is new OEM, it is as quiet as it will ever be.

Good job, and be glad you probably saved stress on your FPCM.

I remember when I replaced mine the new one was louder than I expected it to be. But it broke in over the next few weeks and got pretty quiet.

I had to put my hand on the new OEM pump to make sure it was on

The old one you could here from outside the car. However under WOT you can here it if you turn off the tunes and listen REAL Hard and you sit in the back seat.

But who sits in the back seat of there Q45 anyway?

I'm not currently replacing it, I'm concerned i may need to!I'm currently replacing spkrs and i have the deck lid off. I Filled up on gas from a 1/4 tank and when i restarted car, pump was reasonably louder. Is that cause the tank is now full or what (Remember the Lid was off before and after the fill up)? Should the pump run louder on a full tank or 1/4 tank?
