k, well i got my sr swap sone locally by a shop a little while ago, and everything went fine and worked fine. then it gradually got worse. first it would kind of stumble at an idle but keep going with the gas, then it just got to the point of where it is now, and not starting at all. we just now noticed that we could not hear the fuel pump come on, so i went out and got a walbro. hooked it up and the fuel pump didnt turn on. i double checked the fuse, and got a new relay and still nothing. I know that the pump does work , because when we connected it to 12 volts , it worked just fine. is there anything else i should be looking for? thanks.

tenkawa...is that the timing actually jumping on the chain or just the CAS being in the wrong place??? my SR is almost having the same issues when it tries to start up...it runs fine when its on but has a ***** of a time starting...almost just like what he was describing...so does that mean the timing chain has jumped teeth or is it from the CAS being in the wrong position?

the timing of the CAS and ignition has been slightly altered. Check it and bring it back to 15 degrees BTDC.

vaccum leak. Don't know if that will make it totally not run though, but it will make it run like crap and sputter unless you hold the gas pedal.

ok, well we finally started looking at everything, and we have a clue as to what the problem is. we now hooked up the fuel pump , while intank. to the batteryand let it pump the gas for a little bit, and voila, it started just fine. so now we know that the prob is because no voltage was goin to the fuel pump, but now figuring out why is the problem.we replaced the relay/fuse for the fuel pump and nothing, are there any other relays that control this that we should check out?cuz im completely lost rite now, as to what it could be. thanks for the responses so far guys :ylsuper

This might sound stupid and obvious, but try looking at your fuel pump harness and the wires. Better safe than sorry. =P

it could be faulty wiring in the harness somewhere. other than that, i'm at a loss

any luck on finding the problem? i just swapped an E for the DE motor and I am having the exact same problem as you. fuse is fine, relay is good, brand new walbro pump that works in the tank. Its electrical, but i have no idea where it could be.
