I was just wondering if you don't have an EPROM in your ECU would your fuel pump kick on but never turn off? It makes since to me because the RPMs are sensed by the ECU to turn the fuel pump off but without the ROM chip it doesn't work?

Also can you check codes without a EPROM? I haven't burned my new EPROM yet but I wanted to check codes but I was unable to get the ECU into diagnostics mode.

Without a ROM chip in your ECU you cannot check codes and your fuel pump will never turn off. I guess I did something wrong when I burned my ROM chip. I put the stock one back but I have to have a huge vacuum leak for it to idle. If I plug the leak it will stall right away. I think because It's running to rich (wide band is reading below 10:1). My stock ROM is of course for 370cc and I have 550cc.

Would anyone be willing to mail me a burned EPROM for Z32 MAF and 550cc injectors? Name a reasonable price and I will be able to paypal you the money and get this going. In the mean time I'm going to play with my ROM burner and see if I can get something to work. The problem is that the car is 30 miles from my house so it's hard to test eprom chips in it.

i have one for 450cc thats it. crad has a site with a bunch on there but i looked at the 550cc z32 one and it looked like a stock tune to me. but the whole fuel pump thing confuses me. i thought the fuel pump went off your ignition. if you turn the car off the fuel pump will turn off. the eprom doesnt control the fuel pump as the fuel pump just pressurizes/pumps fuel into the rail the eprom takes over and controls the injectors to release it into the manifold. right?

The ECU controls the injectors for sure. The fuel pump is on a relay. When you turn your car on the pump will prime for about 5 seconds and if the ECU doesn't sense any RPMs it will turn the pump off. I don't know any more details. But I do know that if you have no EPROM or an incorrectly burned one the fuel pump will never turn off.
