What tells the fule pump to prime?

theres a relay in the under hood fusebox by the battery. also a fuse in there

we checked them with a multimetor, they are fine

well if you have a muitimeter, then you can check continuity of the pump. unplug the harness and on the fuel pump side of the harness check the power terminal continuity to the ground terminal. if you dont get any continuity then the pump itself is bad.

if the pump is good, the relay is good and the fuse is good, then u have a wiring issue

and to answer ur original question, the ignition circuit when turned ON position sends a signal to the fuel pump relay to prime for 5 seconds.

odd thing is.. i don't even think the ecu is getting power

I guess i have a wiring issue.. but everything is pluged in where its suppoesed to be. wich leads me to belivie that the ecu isn't getting power cause along with the fuel pump not priming the coil isn't shooting a spark. and there is nothing wrong with the coil.

we checked the EGI pump relay, im pretty sure they are the same thing. anyway.. theres nothing wrong with it

sounds like u have a bigger problem. try checking the big alternator fuse.

same fusebox its a 75A i THINK, something high like that, a big square fuse

no but you can check that too. im talking about the big alternator fuse, read the fusebox cover

alternator fuse is finewhere is the fuseable link is it the white wire coming off of the battery post?
