I don't know if anyone has had a problem like this before? I just installed a SR20DET into my fastback and started the car. The car would run, but really terrible. Now the car will crank, but not turn over. Also the fuel pump will not prime up anymore? I'm stuck what could i be missing? Did i short something out? Its like the fuel pump is not longer getting power. I'm really stumped.

Thanks,h46it.

I could have sworn theres a relay in the engine bay that controls the primming affect when you first turn the key.. don't they go out after a while??? I just replaced my fuel pump becuz my car was doing the same thing.. it would prime sometimes and then not at all.. made the car very hard to start.. till it didn't start at all... :( had it replaced with a H P one and now its running good.. lil advice to add to... try not to let your tank go below a qtr... doesn't do good for the pump.. fluid pumps are meant to pump fluids.. thats how they are kept cool running... and it prolongs the life of the pump... just thought i would throw that in there

Update:

I just changed the those big fuses in the engine bay, and swapped a 20 for 15 amp fuse. Now, the car is starting to catch and almost turn over. But i think that the fuel pump there something still wrong with it. I'm going to take the fuel pump out and check to see if the pump is still working.

Do you think that i could have had a bad fuel pump? Its a walbaro one. I'm so close to having the car run. Just missing something small.

Thanks everyone for you help,h46it.

if you think/know the pump is ok... try running a direct postive cable to the pump from the battery and and negative too... if it works then you know you have a bad connection or short some where inbetween the pump and the fuse holder....

Hey i just check the fuel pump today. It works fine. It must be something in the electrical. I'm not too sure what it is yet? I checked all of the fuses they seemed to be okay. I'm don't know what else i can check? If anyone has anymore suggestion that would be great. Thanks again for everyones help.

Hey think your right its the relay. I changed the relay with the one that came with my front clip. But nothing has changed? I can't figure it out? Something is going on? We bypassed the relay and tapped straight to the fuel pump. So we tried starting the car and it works. So there's is a bad relay? But i just changed it with a JDM one. Do you or anyone else know if USDM or JDM relay's are different?

I'm so close to getting this car on the road? I don't know what i'm missing. Do you think that i fried the ECU? Please don't tell me that.

Just one last thing. I checked the voltage on the fuel pump relay and there is power. But i don't here the relay turn on/off? Nothing at all.

Thanks again,h46it.

they shouldn't be.. my cars from canada.. and the only difference between my car and a jdm one is the steering wheel.. how did you bypass it.. did you check the voltage on the contacts for the relay.. i know they can sometimes get corrodid... or dirty.. if you want for now you could wire a jumper from the fuse box to the contact on the relay so when you put your key in it will come on with the car... untill you can figure out whats going on with the relay..
