My fuel pump has been making a noise lately. Kinda like a (theres power to it noise-if that makes sense) not it filling up though....

It does it and continues for a little bit after I shut the car off. It does go away, but its getting louder.

My first guess being its going bad..and I more than likely just need to replace it.What do you guys think

Thanks!

Yup. The increasing audible noise is characteristic of a pump on it's way out.

Just buy a Walbro 255 for $80 and put it in there. Then, you already have a high flow upgraded pump for future mods that might warrant the extra flow.

Yes, mine has been making the noise for 2 weeks. I am also interested in finding out if the high flow pump will cause my black smoker to be worse.

Shouldn't cause an issue, since the system is not a "deadhead" system (meaning whatever fuel is not sprayed through the injectors is recirculated to the fuel tank).

However, some Hondas with recirculating systems have been known to suffer a rich condition when running a high flow pump, as opposed to stock. I suspect a failing FPR (maybe a pinhole in the diaphragm) is the cause. I hardly see how the higher flow capability would pose a threat.

Anyone else with solid data on this subject, rather than my speculation?

I just searched it

Some have had problems.

Most convincing was the guy that said he didnt have any problems and still doesnt three years later.

I think it just does depend on FPR and its condition/
