I've checked through pages and pages of posts. from sr20goofus to nostalic hero to everyone who has ever had a fuel pump issue. mine is blowing the fuse when I turn the key for the pump to prime. It blows out before the pump kicks in, obviously I have a short somewhere. Currently I have the entire interior out of the car, including the dash. anyways I've scoured the FSM and i'm still unclearas to where the fuel pump wires go from the rear of the car. Specifically does it continue down the drive-side the winds across behind the dash on its way to the ECM and fuse box. Or does it follow the path of going along the driver-side fender, under the core support, and back to the box. I ask now because it means a few less minutes spent opening up looms and removing a fender and what not.

My friend suggested the lazy task of getting a paper clip and putting it in place of the fuse. turning the key and listen for sizzling or look for smoke. Yank the paper clip and fix it that route. However I don't wanna risk this.

I was albe to trace the fuel pump wire (blk/yellow) all the way to where the SMJ is after that too many wires and ugh.

Yah any help is appreciated. I'll be trying to upload pics with in the next 15mins.

BTW this is on a sohc S13

Update::: on my fuse box under the hood the power wire on the 10amp fuse is (blk/red) however if I go to the back of the car the wire is (blk/ylw). I can't figure out where this color change occurs.

this is wiring for the dohc

pull the fuel pump relay and see if fuse still blows. disconnect the fuel pump and see if fuse still blows. do continuity test on wires to find high resistance.

I have the chiltons manual and even the sohc FSM on CD off ebay. even on the schematic it states blw yellow goes from the relay and so forth. Yet on the 10amp fuse portion its blk/red I don't see it on the FSM.
