I have a 91 hatch and when I went to start it yesterday it didn't start so I got some starting fluid sprayed it into the intake and it started. It ran for like 2-3 seconds and then died. So I checked the fuel pump fuse it was fine. The I poped my hatch up and had my bro crank the car and I listened for anything. Nothing, no click no gurgle no nothing so I figured it must be the fuel pump. So yesterday afternoon and for some of today I have been searching for answer. It seems like the cheapest stock fuel pump I can find is 100 bucks and I think to myself "dude I can use a walbro fuel pump". Now my question is can I run a walbro with a stock FPR or do I need an aftermarket one? I have seen some threads where people used stock FPRs and others where an aftermarket FPR was used and I need a decisive answer. Also if anyone has links to where i can get this stuff for a low price post please the cheapest I've seen for a walbro was 89.99 on ebay and like 50 for a FPR. Thanks guys.

*Edit I have a bone stock KA24DE BTW*

You will be just fine with a Walbro in your car. I had a walbro in my car with the stock FPR and only saw about 2psi more than stock at idle.(about a needles width on the gauge)The fuel pump WILL pull more than the factory fuse, that's for damn sure. BUT, only if it's trying to create tons of pressure. Like if you have an adjustable FPR and have it cranking the pressure. Keep that in mind when/if you upgrade your car later on. Put a relay on it, and put some fat nasty wire on it directly to the battery for best results. Or do it anyways, it wont hurt.

Forgot to add, that you can get a Walbro 255 HP for like 85$ with install kit from Marty at Injected Performance. They are a site sponsor, and a great company to deal with.
