Hi 96 touring, just under 120K miles.
I can hear the fuel pump hum at start up. I am sure of this, and am aware of the pump failure issue, and am going to try and limp it to spring when the weather warms up and do it myself (no long drives required).
When the car is idling sometimes i can hear a hum (SOMETIMES) coming from the trunk. Its hard to tell if it is the fuel pump, because sometimes it sounds like barely audible white noise that would come from a speaker barely turned on, and sometimes it makes a clearly audible hum for 5-10 secs. Sometimes it is completely quiet for long intervals.
I am wondering if there is anything else in the trunk area that could be making this noise when driving? is there something back there with the TCS that would do this? I just want to check to see if my fuel pump is telling me its going to go in a couple days, or if there are two different sources (fuel pump and something else) to this hum.
Second question. Drivers side window closes really slow for the last 2 inches, I usually help it up a bit. It opens fine, and closes reasonably well until the last two inches. Is there something that could be lubed to make this probelm less bad, or is replacing the window motor my only hope. Not looking for like new operation, again I just want to get to spring, where I can do some of this stuff myself without freezing the boys off.
Thanks
Adam
