Fuel pump 97Q -

I got a 97Q with 74k miles. When the car is running, no fuel pump humming/high pitch sound is heard from the drivers seat.

When I stick my head into the truck, I can easily hear the fuel pump - not a hum but more like a high pitch sound. I can even hear the fuel moving/being pumped.

Is this much sound normal or does it mean I need to change out the pump.

What do you guys think?

Well, it's got to make some noise. Fuel pumps will vary even when new. Keep tabs on it and get concerned if it starts to get louder or change pitch.
