1991 S13, Fastback 148000 miles 5 speedI just got through replacing my fuel injectors and my fuel rail because I *****ED them up trying to see if my car was having a fuel injector leak. I took it to the shop and they told me that all I have to replace is the #1 injector and the fuel rail. I replaced that and everything, I also went ahead and replaced all my spark plugs because they got ****ed up on the way back from the shop. (I drove it on the bad injector/fuel rail). I know the injectors are good and that the fuel rail is in good condition too. The problem I have is that the car wont start. I got it to start, but I had to stomp on the gas pedal. I also noticed A LOT of WHITE smoke coming from the tail. (The gas leaked from injector #1, all the way through the engine and the exhaust I guess) I really dont know what else to do with this car.....HELP~!!!!!

PS - I forgot to say that the fuel tank was on full when I got it to the shop, but when I took it back from them, it was empty. (NO~! They didnt drive it around, they didnt have time to. I think it just leaked all the way through....)

Thanks everyone~!-R

Did you check your oil? usually when an injector is leaking and gas makes its way into a cylinder it will trickle down into the oil pan. i wouldnt be surprised if alot of your gas made its way into the oilpan. Definately change your oil and filter if you havent already!!!

White smoke usually means you are burning water (coolant :( ) but lets take it one step at a time.....

If it is really white and really dense, that could be yet another fuel leak. Does it smell kind of sweet (coolant) or very rich (gas)?Be very careful. You could hydrolock the engine or possibly have an explosion. I wouldn't drive it for those reasons and also for the reason p00t gave--no lube. Fix it yourself or have it towed to a shop.

Changed the oil, DAMN~!!!! I cleared about 2 gallons and more from the oil pan alone. The car starts fine on its own, but still chunks out some white smoke....not as much though. Any other thoughts?

PS - Thanks guys~!-R

A little white smoke is normal for the first few minutes (steam). After that, there shouldn't be any, unless it's real cold out. Since you're in Cali I'm guessing that's not the case. What's the smoke smell like? Abnormal white smoke is most likely either coolant or fuel fog, and each has a different smell. How does the car run? Missing cylinder(s)? How do your plugs look? If you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, hook up the gauge, start the car, and then kill the engine. The gauge will tell you if the fuel rail is depressurizing quickly...fuel leaking through or around one or more injectors.

Be wary of starting the car soon after you last ran it. The fuel rail contains enough fuel to hydrolock the engine. If you kill the engine for a few minutes, a cylinder could fill up with gas, and if you turn the key before the gas leaks down, you could bend a rod.

Dunno anymore man, white smoke just keeps shooting out. I also thought that the smoke right after the oil change should clear out, but it didnt so I guess it shoul be a headgasket. The smoke was actually odor less as far as I know....that should be water, but what do I know?
