For some strange reason, i'm not getting proper fuel. The car died with the usual symptoms if a dead/dieing fuel pump.the relays were clicking a rather large amount. so not wanting to drop a stack of cash on an unneeded fuel pump, I got new relays. (the relays that i'm talking about are the ones labeled, EGI and EGI Pump) Dropped those in, didn't fix the problem. Pump still sounded bad and relays still clicked. So the next step was to get online and get a new pump. Walboro for 100 or stock replacement for 150.... needless to say, i went with the walboro.Just got that installed, double checked everything. Primed it a bunch of times and attempted to start the car. Nothing, the engine turned over, but no combustion. i'm thinking that it is still just air in the lines and all that jazz, so i turn the engine over for several minutes, still no combustion. I check to see if the pump is working. It sounds better than ever. I pulled the fuel line and got a rather interested result. Instead of a steady stream of fuel, it is pulsing. Last i knew, this wasn't supposed to happen. The relays are also clicking. What is causing this and how do i fix it?

Did you pull the line before or after the filter. If you pulled it after the filter then pull it before the filter and if you get a steading stream then replace your filter cause its clogged. Let us know what the results of that were.

before or after the filter it doesn't matter. this is an electrical issue, I just don't know what is causing it or why it is happening, let alone how to fix it.

when the fuel is flowing, it is at the right pressure, but for some reason, the power to the pump is shorted out at/before/around the relays. the relays are clicking at the exact same time and rhythm as the fuel pulsing....

know of a good way to do so?

would it be the fuel pump ground? where does it get grounded to?

I didn't think a ground would go bad like that. I always thought it either was or it wasn't.

With a volt meter check voltage at battery and write this down then connect a lead from the positive side of the battery to your positive side of the volt meter make sure its long enough so you can move your meter with you then probe all your ground spots and if you have one with less voltage than your battery you have a bad ground.Probe the ground on the fuel pumo housing also might just have a corroded ground. Good luck and let us know what you find
