So my SR wont rev past 3k. regardless of gear. it revs smooth until 3k then shuts off for like a second then revs dies rev dies until i let off of the gas. then it revs down to almost dead, then picks back up into a rough *** idle. it starts idling somehwere from 1-2k until the engine is warm then goes down to about .5-1, almost dying when it hits .5, then jumps up to 1, only to fall to .5 repeating the cycle. it even does this out of gear. Ive got a Walbro 255 pump, hks ssqv, and ebay fmic + piping. everything else is stock exept my downpipe, even the exhaust and intake. i tried checking for boost leaks and didnt find anything. i disconnected the maf and the car runs WAY worse. i looked at my ecu to make sure it was plugged in all the way and it is, but noticed a few wires were cut at the connector. is that normal? i wouldnt think so. not sure tho thats why im asking .

So today i changed out my fuel filter with a new 300zx twin turbo(96) one and guess what? still runs ****ty....

recap :

Revs fine completly to 4.5-5.25k then cuts out and revs choppy(poping). This is 1/4-1/2 throttle.

If I floor it it stops reving. period. doesnt matter gear or rpm, wont happen.

if i hold it 2/3-9/10 throttle it revs to about 3k then stops completely

NOTE: when i say it dies at the end of reving the engine does not turn off, just stops reving and feels like its just rolling until i let off the gas, then it starts reving again when it drops a few rpm's, like either the fuel got caught back up with the rest of the engine or visa versa. im pretty sure its a fuel problem, not sure if its too much or not enough...

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Welcome to Nico...You really need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to match your Walbro or you could be running really rich. Recheck for vaccum leaks everywhere especially the ones on the bottom side of the intake manifold. Most people dont even know they exist.
