I have had a fuel (seemingly) problem for quite some time. In the mornings she starts, but if I dont let her run for a couple minutes, if I hit the gas under load/in gear, it bogs, almost stalls, until the fuel picks up and then all is fine, until the next day. This morning for the first time she didnt want to start; finally started with some backfiring, idled but barely, and took about 5 minues before it would accept gas from the pedal. On my 120 mile run to work, it seemed to lack a little the whole trip. At higher rpms it seemed a little flat, and hesitated at take off just a tad. Got to work and just tried to start her. Fires immediately then died. Tried againand now its like shes not getting any fuel. Not starting at all. Just put 1200$ into her replacing the t belt and all related components so this is a bummer. Before I cart it off behind a tow truck thought I would get some thoughts just in case someone might have seen this before. My wife is is going to chew me out for this one :frown:
thanks yall. Appreciate any and all input

Damn. Talk about a dud thread right? Well hell, Im going to reply to my own thread then just so I have company.
Seriously, in trying to give back from what I take, so heres what happened.
Initial problem: barely started on the coldest day of the year, but im on the gulf.... it was about 20. Once she fired up, ran rough, couple backfires, etc. Got it to work, and wouldnt fire at all. it should be noted that for months I had to let it warm up for a minute or so otherwise when I put it in gear it would bogg. At the shop we found the cold crank/temp sensor was spiking all over the place; spent 20$ and fixed the majority of the problems, but she still has to warm up in the morning otherwise still a bit sluggish.
Im open for suggestions. Plan on putting new NGK's in, fuel filter, and want to clean the injectors. Anybody run fuel injector cleaner they would reccomend? I have never done anything to the injectors before.
Merry Christmas-

Techron is the best fuel injector cleaner commonly available. That's based on a ton of reviews I've seen.

The temp sensor on the water outlet pipe? Check the connector for corrosion as well. Check your electrical timing with the PTU loop and the CAS as well. Should be at 15° BTDC once warmed up.

Have you run the ECU diagnostic yet? That'll tell you if you have any codes.

I would put a pressure gauge on the fuel line and see if the pump or relay is causing the problem. Also, clean the connectors, this is usually the first step in anything on this motor.

Thanks for the input!
We put a gauge on the fuel pressure and the pump was fine. Dont know the psi however; I didnt see the read. The ECU is code free but was indicating the sensor problem I noted was fixed. i still have yet to replace the basics re: filters, and since I have not run injector cleaner Im going to knock that out this weekend when i get home to the garage. This Z is still new to me so there is a ton of things i am just becoming familiar with. Anything i find i will reply and take pics if I see anything that may relate to the probelmes im having. My main goal is to get my other ide moving so I can take daily pressure of the Z and take my time with her.
Thanks again for any and all advice.
