Fuel Problem Help Guys!~

Ok...I chnaged my fuel filter today...No problem and the spark plug wires...Going to this other town I noticed that my gas was going down TERRIBLY bad and fast and I had just put in $10 worth and i was like WTF? I checked everything...No leaks No nothing...But the gas hand keeps going ALL the wat down ...Like Way farther than it's supposed to when the tank is empty And besides that..The car acts like it has the hiccups And it will jump around under heavy throttle?? Someone help me soon and fast cuz my gas gauge is wrong and i have to drive 30+ miles a day to work HELPP

Sounds like you've got a massive fuel leak somewhere. Gas is also somewhat hard to find since it likes to evaporate. Have you checked out your fuel lines for cracks and such? A place I had my massive fuel leak (honestly it would pour gas out) was the breather hose between the filler and the gas tank. You should check over your fuel lines and check under your car for the leak.

If you can't smell gas when you walk around your car, chances are it's not a leak. Your float inside your gas tank might have gone out as well.

Best idea I can think is just to fill it all the way and see what your gauge reads.

Well I would fill it up but now I'm short on cash... Gurls+Weekend=Broke...Lol but i'm sure it's not leaking gas. Cause the gauge goes right back up...But then it goes all the way down and everything...but last night I drove it EVERYWHERE so I know it can't be leaking gas? Think i blew a fuse related to the fuel system?...I'm up for about anything right now...this car never messes up!!

The only fuse for the fuel system is the fuel pump fuse, and if that blew your car wouldn't run at all.

I'd still say the float or gauge is shot.

It must be the float...b/c the gauge goes up when you fill it up??This is stupid...why did it have to happen to my car?

thats just a minor set back. Every car in the world has problems. Settle down and search for the problem.

Ok Besides the gauge problem...The car stutters as your driving it...It like cuts out...When your going slow or fast! I dunno what it could be now...Fuel pump?

bad Fuel Pressure Regulator?

i dunno, i once experimented with opening the FPR vacuum hoses during idle, the car sputters for about 1 second and dies....

which leads to me think that fuel pressure and sputtering is closely related

hi there clean out all the junk you might have in the back hatch,pull the carpet out of yhe way.you will see a screwed on pannel to the right hand side looking down in front of you.remove approx 4 screws there you will see the top of your sending unit,wiggle a few wires with your key ahead,maybe a half a tank of gas would make it quicker to notice the hand dropping up and down.my guess is you have a bad ground. when i first bought mine i roughed it for a week or two before i took on the task of investigating which i was dreading thinking the worst.well when all was said and done in about 10 mins and another task out of the wayhope this helps sean
