Fuel Pressure Woes....

Mind you, I'm by no means and expert but whenever i lay my car up for more then a month less then that in the winter, i always put stabilizer in it.

higher octane fuels are less likely to gel, for example, leave diesel fuel outside in the winter for a week and see what happens too it. all gas does that, but lower octanes do it faster.

I know this doesn't help you now but maybe for next winter?

Probably will just drain the tank and start with fresh fuel next winter, who knows

I went and purchased the aeromotive billet fuel pump controller. It uses pulsewidth to slow the motor down on the fuel pump when at idle and cruising speeds.

I can no longer hear the fuel pump running at idle, and the car idles significantly better now that the base fuel pressure has dropped to around 36 for idle....

The pump is currently setup using a potentiometer to dial in the speed at which the pump runs at 100% By default, it is set to 3300 for 6cyl engines. All you have to do is tap a wire off your TACH (mine was going into the ECU) and run it to the controller.

I will potentially be dialing it up a little bit, as my interstate cruising speed is around 3k.....I dont need the pump to be @ 100% till around 4500rpms anyways....

nice man, im going to be running a 1 gallon fuel surge tank fed by my walboro in tank and then it sumps to my two bosche 044 pumps that is dual feed -6an into my greddy fuel rail with -6an return to my aeromotive fpr i think it should be good for 1200hp but im only going to be trying to hit 800hp.

Sounds like a nice setup, however I'm really loving the idea of the simplification process....1 pump, 1 set of wires, 1 fuel line :)

I dont plan on doing much road racing, or running much below a 1/2 tank so I dont think having a surge tank would benefit me much......

I wouldnt necessarily say i followed YOUR advice ;)

But yes, I wisened a little, and figured it might alleviate some headaches down the road, and give me a little more piece of mind when i take the car on longer trips.....
