I did a fuel pressure test with ignition on and I get 40psi but as son it ends the pressure it goes down to 0 immediately. I also hear a humming sound louder than ever ever before. The car starts strong but with variables in the rpms when idle. I’m assuming is the fuel pump but then again I’m not 100% sure. :gotme :gotme :wtf2: :wtf2:

40 psi is high unless the regulator has no vacuum, should spec at 34~35. It should also hold pressure. To find out if the regulator is crapped, pinch off the return line. If it holds pressure then the regulator is faulty.

I just put a new regulator but I will test anyways. When i turn the car on it goes to 35 and it starys there. The test with just the switch on position when I pinch the inline between the fuel filter and the fuel rail it holds as well, does that indicate that my fuel pump is jacked up? It was making this hummig noise but now it doesnt. Am I doing this right?

The 35 running is healthy but if it holds pressure with the feed pinched off, then the check valve is bad. Not sure if that's inside the pump like on later stuff or inside the fuel filter, maybe one of the 240 mavens here can help out.

Yeah it holds pressure with the hose pinched off with ignition on. Also fuel filter is brand new. So if I did this test right then the fuel pump is jacked up! Can someone confirm? I'll appreciated.

Is the filter on in the right direction?

Hello! Wheres the fuel valve check located? Is it a component inside the fuel pump itself or is it apart???

Dunno, might be part of the rollover valve or it might be in the pump. Can't be in the regulator, that's on the return side. Maybe one of the 240 mavens can help out.

Yup!!! gotta be inside the fuel pump itself. Will it be okay to get a high pressure fuel pump! Going to Maximum Pump Pressure (PSI) At (116.0)??? Or just go with the regular PSI at 40.

Same deal, I dunno. I suppose the HP pump could be trouble if you had a regulator failure, but maybe the hardware will stand it. You'll need input from somebody more 240-savvy than I am.

Fuel pressure fixed!~ It was the fuel pump!!! Now I will open another thread since I have Idle RPM issues.
