i checked my fuel pressure today and the numbers were surprising. at idle no vacuum it was 45 to 50 psi. at 7psi of boost it went to 60 and at twelve it shot to 70/75psi of fuel pressure. this is a stock ka24e. is it stiil safe to drive/boost while i save up for a new afpr?

stock pressure is 35-40psi... if your running a ka-t the numbers should still be the same... even at idle those numbers are a little hight...

with those numbers it may be the fuel pressure regulator... just check for kinks in the fuel line first before you buy anything

your fpr is not working like it should. it should be 38ish psi at idle and 43ish with vaccuum. your climb sounds about right, you should be fine. if you start having hard startups then this is your culprit. i ran mine like this for a while before i bought a nismo adjustable. if you cant start it pull the vacuum line off and it should start right up.

To keep it simple just a Nismo FPR and an inline gauge (screws into 1/8 NPT port, just buy an adapter for 1/8 NPT and cut fuel line, put it in).

Why not just get the NISMO FPR that fits the KA/SR fuel rails instead of getting the universal one? That would have saved you ~$35 on the adaptors.

im glad someone asked that question....the answer- It doesnt fit,on the sohc, the adjustment nut will actually hit the head and you wont be able to adjust to where you need it. It will bolt up to the fuel rail but clearence is the issue i had

Even the one that says it fits isn't perfect. The adjustment screw usually hits the head. I got a swivel adapter as well so that it all works easily.

I knew that the adjustment screw sometimes hits the head, but I was under the impression that if you adjust it to the proper setting that there's Good stuff to know, esp. since I'm getting ready to finally order mine. I'll have to check with the SR guys to make sure that this isn't a problem with our motors. Thanks

For the record....it works for both the sr and the ka24de...It does not work for the sohc as a direct bolt on due to clearence between rail and head

Hit the head on my DE, thus the adapter.

dont tell me that....mine was being a pain in the a$$ to start at the dyno and i also had to give it gas to start. i figured it was tuning. my gauge says it is at proper psi though...do you have an inline gauge?

well i only have to gas my car to start only sometimes not all the time. my fuel gauge reads at 36psi on idle but then im not too sure when i give it throttle. as of rite now i have a built KADE but not turbocharged and it runs fine, i just hate it sometimes when it wont start til i give it gas. btw, i had my nismo fpr for i think almost 3 years now, maybe less.

Yeah i have to give it gas all the time...but that might be cause i removed my iacv and have to crack the butterfly to start...i have only had my fpr on for maybe 3 months....Im putting my iacv back on
