How does the fuel pressure regulator work on the KA24DE and what are it's common failure modes?

How can it be tested?

If it fails how will the car act?

There's a couple of signs. If it fails it could run really rich at idle, so much so that it probably will stall. Another would be super lean causing knock at higher rpms if it's stuck open. Also, if the diaphram brakes, you could end up with lots of gas in the intake manifold. Those are the problems that I've seen personally with FPR's. Hope this helps.
