Is it safe to assume if I can't keep my lower injector seals from leaking my fuel pressure regulator or damper may be bad? Started off with pass side center one leaking and so I replaced them all. Then my pass side front inj has blown two. I just read the descriptions in the online FSM and it sounds like the damper may the problem over the regulator. Thanks

Check your fuel pressure before and after the damper and right before the FPR, the results should give you a good idea of whats goin on, BTW don't just do a static test actually hook everything up and drive around with the gauge under your windshield wiper.

Ok, The only thing is I have fuel leaking pretty bad in the exhaust(which is obviously a fire risk). I believe I may have other engine issues but I need to get the fuel leak stopped to move on.

Should I just go buy a fuel presssure test kit for $60 or buy fittings and two gauges? I'm on a tight buget. Thanks

Is this what I need with fittings? A liquid filled gauge?

All you need is a brass T some fuel hose and that gauge and you should be set. if you have fuel in the exhaust that means you are leaking into the cylinder so you either have a stuck open injector or the bottom injector o-ring is pinched and leaking.

I just put my third lower o-ring in this injector which I purchased from nissan just in case it really matters. It leaked immediately. I'm going to go buy a gauge and check my pressures. Any help appreciated.

Curiousity, did you lube the o-ring before inserting it? If not it will leak everytime.

This is more than likely gonna be the big problem, getting a fuel pressure gauge is gonna tell you the same thing, the pressure is low, which you already know cause the o-ring is leaking.

Yeah I used petrolium jelly. I couldn't find one locally that goes over 15 psi so I didn't get one. Man am I lost. I've got to figure something out.

could an injector dump fuel and ohm within spec's? Has anyone else gone through 3 or more o-rings before they got an injector sealed?

Yes, an injector can dump fuel and be in spec, especially the old ones. When it comes to o-rings, I would stay away from the jellie, that seems to swell the o-rings. I would try a new o-ring again, this time use something diff, some use gas to lube, i personally don't cause I don't think its enough lubrication. Try motor oil, I used Marvel mystery oil and had zero issues going in the first time. When you are putting it in, try and go straight down, maybe turning side to sidelittle bits at a time. When you go in at an angle, thats where you will pinch the o-ring.

Before you re-install the oring, look at your fuel rail, if it has scoring, this will also cause leaking. Try and see if its out of round, anything thats abnormal. This will cause issues as you describe, if your curious about the injector, swap it to the other side and see if it does the same. Maybe the injector is the problem.

Let us know.

Ok, So I swaped two of my injectors, use new o-rings, lube with oil and screw them down. I realize my battery is dead (again) and go to charge it. My charger says I need to replace the battery. Now, this is the second battery I've put in this car. The last one lasted a year, and this one has lasted maybe two months.

1. If the car has a short can it suck so much juice out of the battery that it needs to be replaced? :gotme

2. Or are wal-mart batteries just crap and I just need to keep getting new ones until I get one that works.

With that said I'm thinking this could be my injector problem. If I have a short somewhere that is causing a battery draw, could that short be telling the injector to continuously dump fuel? Once I throw a good battery back in where should I start testing? Should I just start grabbing connectors with the key off of coarse and see if any connectors show any power? Please help. thanks

*edit* So I went out to check on the battery and it seems to be charging. It is not saying its bad anymore so....we'll see. So its been 6 days since I ran the car and the battery was completely drained. I still think I have a short. Need advice please.

So I charged the battery and it read 13.17 volts out of the car. Once I put in the car and hooked up the terminals and tested it, it read 13.12 volts. Can I assume there is not a short, or do I need to go further?

Seems like there may be a slight power draw. I wouldn't begin to know where to start looking though, other than MAYBE the factory alarm system.
