A more reputable company like HKS or AEM if it fits.

I'm not sure where the negativity towards OBX comes from. They make just as many show products as AEM and Injen and what not. They also make very good quality functional parts. Can you give me an example of how they are not reputable? Their STB's are at least as good as any other... I'd dare say they are stronger because they are certainly more beefy than any other brand I've seen. Their short-shifter seems to work quite well. So what is the bad reputation all about, people think of them like APC, yet I've never heard or experienced anything bad with OBX... just curious. If I had any need for a fuel pressure regulator I'd look into it, but being N/A it would just be an extranious expense at this point.

There is nothing that ive heard negative about OBX to date (since most people I know dont buy performance parts from them), but for $20 more you could get the HKS unit. I consider HKS to be a brand name tuner that I would entrust my engine to.

Good point..... HKS is a better known brand. Then again, so is GReddy... and I have a GReddy header, that from what I have heard, will start busting welds soon. I thought they were pretty good, and I can't complain yet.. but we'll see!

Depends on when you got the Greddy header, I do believe their first gen try at a header was crappy but the newer ones have been fixed.

well obx short shifters have been know to break. Why make a shifter out of two pieces? But the two pieces can be bonded together again.

I consider that something negative about obx.

Thank you for pointing that out.. I was not aware... I'll steer clear of OBX short-shifters now. Did you try to send it back, or get your money back? That sucks.. sorry.

Nissan's stock shifter is 2 parts, so is the NISMO one

put some 3m Gurrilla Snot (weatherstrip adhesive) in the rubber part and stick the parts back together. It will NEVER come appart again. I've tried every epoxy, glue, and even JB weld, they all didn't hold, but the 3M stuff is still going strong over a year later.

Oh yeah.. now I remember this conversation from the old boards... (the gorilla snot thing jogged my memory) for some reason I though that was about the Nismo shifter... but it was about OBX..... damn I'm an idiot sometimes..... well, usually..... alright I'm always an idiot.... :rolleyes

I haven't had an opportunity to play with very many OBX parts, as I don't intend to stock them, but their strut bars and short shifter are good, even though the short shifter snaps you can at least glue it back together. As I've been told, from there it all goes down hill, if apc is the dollar store of parts, obx is the wal-mart.
