I am going to have to have my 94 Q45t w/TCS plenum removed to replace a leaky FPR, while that is being done I am going to bite the bullet and replace the under plenum hoses...

In talking with Joe and Everything Infiniti I was quoted a price of ~$450 for all the under plenum hoses (Plenum gaskets, t-body gasket, EGr gasket/hoses, Bypass and other hoses). This seems low based on the writeups I have seen here for all the hoses typically needed for the job. Not that I am going to argue with good price, I just want to make sure I am not missing anything (or perhaps I am not telling Joe something he needs to know)?

Also - I am getting quoted from my local shop upwards of 10 hrs labor to replace the fuel pressure regulator and and hoses... this seems high (not that I can do the work myself). Unfortunately I don't know of a better shop in the Seattle area (eastside) that I can trust to do the work.

Any suggestions on the hoses (what I might be missing) and reliable Infiniti shops in the area?

Thanks!

That price sounds right on the money.

I think you can tackle the underhood hoses with our help - But if not, perhaps Brian (maxnix) knows of a local shop in Seatown.

Never heard of or seen a leaky fuel pump regulator [on a 90-96 Q].

Sure it's not just the flex fuel lines under plenum [common].

Wish I did, but I always went to Portland to Infiniti of Beaverton where Eric is the senior technician. He maintains a 1994 since new for his dad. Lower labor, no sales tax and will let customer supply parts. And they will loan you a car.

Look at heater hoses also if you want to avoid future labor charges.

There is a list that is more current than mine in a previous post.

It could very well be, but I am at a bit of a disadvantage since I have to take their word for it (no space or skills to do this myself). In fairness, the plenum is not off yet, they just know it is leaking from that area. I will order a replacement just in case, and I will let them know not to install it unless they know it is the culprit (and not the hoses). That way I can hopefully return anything not installed to Joe.

Thanks - I used the cd's you dropped off to me last year to and I found that list (or one similar) + the one Wes has on this site. Re: the $370 you mention in the houseorder.txt - was that including the last 2 heater hoses or are they above and beyond the $370 mentioned?

Thanks!

I would have 2 KS and a harness handy as a 12 year old Q is a PRIME candidate..........especially with you paying 10 hours should be 8 or 9 with KS replacement. Once you have every hose in stock on the bench changing each one takes a few minutes, same with fuel rail off changing KS only adds 15 minutes.

After all there are about $2500-$2800 worth of parts under the plenum [injectors, KS, gaskets, orings and hoses and harnesses.

Getting ready to order my pile of parts from Joe for my motor swap...

Gonna send all 8 injectors to Deatschwerks as well for testing / refurbishing / flow bench testing.

Prices are old, pre April factory closeout - i.e., Nissan wants the G50 off the road.

All the advice above is good, and Joe will take back unopened packages. But to save labor, best to replace everything.

There are other alternatives to dealerships in Seattle area. I've offered my help before, you've refused it, so .... (BTW I am ASE master tech) Cheers!

Nissan wants the G50 off the road

Inventory holding cost go up when volume per part goes down.

Also lots of difference as old inventory was created as a part of the new build component in 1989 and 1992-1993.

It currently cost them 40-50% AVERAGE more to recreate the same part from simple inflation .

Just proves that owning and maintaining to new standards an old lux car cost as much as a new one if you use new parts.
