I am going to be installing my NISMO FPR soon, and I found an inline gauge and adapter to use from http://www.summitracing.com

gauge 60PSI: SUM-800160T for 3/8" hose: SUM-G1710

Looking at the fuel rail, you have fuel coming in that feeds the rail, at the end is the pressure regulator, which then recirculates the fuel back to the tank.

So my question is do I just hook the Fuel pressure gauge up right before the fuel rail?

That seems to make the most since to me, but I have never installed one before, so I would appreciate the help.

yes, put it in after the fuel filter and before the fuel rail.

That's my temp setup until the fuel gauge comes in...(it's an air compressor gauge..haha)

I tapped threads where the stock fpr was and put in a Tee and then have the adjustable MSD fpr after it.

i used the 5/16" fuel barb fittings to 1/8" Tee adapter and mount a B&M gauge; between the filter and the rail. you can get the fittings at pepboys.

So i finally got a chance today to install the gauge and fpr. I would post a pic, but it looks just like everyone else' pic. :)

Some things to note if you are doing this install:

1. You need some teflon tape when you screw the gauge into the t fitting. And you have to use a wrench to screw it in.

2. The Nismo FPR vs stock: a. The vacuum connection is down at an angle on the Nismo, so the hose will hit one of the sensors. Not a big deal, but you may need a little bit longer vacuum hose. b. The Fuel line connection is longer on the Nismo and it bends towards the valve cover. This kind of puts a binde on the fuel hose, so you may want to make a new shorter line, or shorten the one that is on there.

3. The T from summit is 3/8, but the fuel line is 5/16 so although you can make the hose fit on it, you may want to just find a T that is 5/16. (I rubbed my thumb raw getting my Goodyear fuel hose wedged on there)

4. You need two hose clamps. They sell some nice ones at Pepboys that are very similar to stock.

5. Most people I have asked said 35 with vacuum hose on and 45 with it off. a. The Nismo fpr I got was set lower than the 35/45, so you should bite the bullet and get the gauge as well. b. I couldn't get mine adjusted to that because if I set it for 35 it would only go to around 42, so I set it to 38 which lands me at 45 and said screw it.

And the final thing to remember is that if the last thing you did was install a FMIC on your car, while you listened to the radio, your battery is probably dead, as was mine :doh

35 is your base PSI, you should set it there and whatever it lands at with vacuum, so be it. You gotta understand that if your idle is lower than stock, your fuel pressure will be off. If its higher it will be off.

35 Base PSI, 43 with vacuum hooked up.

Backwards, right Jon? Should be 43 with vacuum disconnected, and 35 with vacuum connected.

I got all confused last night....43 is base fuel pressure, 35 is after vacuum adjustment...good thing there are good people here to double check my night time ramblings!

Damn it!

NISMO_RB25: After inspecting the two screws on the FPR carefully, look like it's impossible to turn it loose w/ a screw driver. Probably I will have to grid it off. How did you get those screws off on yours?

Since I have a RB20, I might have to to remove the upper intake plennum for replacing the FPR?
