I have a Nismo FPR and Tomei 740cc injectors on my RB25 and just finishing up the swap. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge and wanted to know which one to get and how to figure out where to set the pressure at. Just looking to get a mechanical to put on the line; I saw the link to the one on Summit Racing in another thread, but it only goes up to 15psi...? Thanks in advance

The 15 psi gauge is for carburated engines. The RB25 obviously requires a higher range >75 psi for accuracy. If you want the gauge in the car, any electronic gauge will do but you get what you pay for.

As for setting the fuel pressure, that all depends on your fueling system. If the fuel pump is up to task but the injectors are small, then increasing the fuel pressure to get a higher volume thru the injectors will be a cheap trick. Vice versa and it is simply limited by the fuel pump.

If the injectors are sized for the pump, then running the stock base fuel pressure is fine and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is unnecessary.

Not to be facetious as I appreciate your quick reply, but you did not really answer my questions. I already have a FPR and larger injectors, plus a Walbro fuel pump.

I know 15psi is for carbed engines, that why I was asking why someone recommended it for an RB in another thread, I thought maybe I was missing something? I do not think I want a gauge in the cabin, I just want to know the pressure that my regulator is set at and a mechanical one in front of my FPR should be fine. If it doesn't matter then I will not get a gauge, but from the other threads I've seen you need to set the pressure to make sure the system is running best?

Will this gauge work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...68047 along with this fitting: http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku

What I was getting at since I didn't know the fuel pump was that you should sell the FPR because it is unnecessary unless, of course, the stocker went bad and you're simply replacing it. Put that money towards the gauge and fitting you have listed above. Those will work fine, but I'm curious to see if the gauge's male fitting clears the housing enough to allow the fitting to screw onto it without interfering. Might need to add another 1/8"NPT adapter fitting. I know I had to do this for my SARD FPR (that I haven't installed yet because I don't have the need yet )

hey, so you should totally do a write up on how to install the gauge and set the pressure with the FPR.

There's one for the SR20 already, and it can't be too much different, but not for the RB25.

Not to mention it would probably be a pretty simple article.

(btw, this is my next step, so if you don't do it, I probably will if I can get around to it.)

Well also if you have bigger injectors, Fuel pump and ecu.And of course more Air going in, then you can use the FPR for better atomization.

the engine is pushing 400hp and I'm about to get it tuned for race gas so I figured I'd need some kind of gauge. I don't like not knowing what my engine is doing

I have that summit gauge on my regulator. Liquid filled ftw.

You'll be good with that setup. I have something almost identical, but from Jegs. Works great.

FYI set rail psi to 43.5 aka 3 bar at idle with the vac hose to FPR disconnected.

Alright, that makes more sense. Also, I noticed I don't have clamps on either side of the lines that are on the FPR. Should that be something I should be worried about? (i.e...go and get some hoseclamps and put them on when I am changing things out anyway?)

i would. might as well. whats like 1$ more in parts and a minute more of your time, to make sure your fuel lines stay on?

OK, here are the lines on top of my fuel filter.

I am guessing the one on top coming directly out of the tube into the fuel line is the one I am going to put the gauge on?

Two angles...

Yeah that's it, splice it into the line coming from the filter to the rail.

Got the gauge installed and the pressure is around 20psi it idle right now

Just to make sure - to increase the fuel pressure at the reg I have the engine running at idle, pull the vac hose to fpr and bring the pressure to 43.5psi, then return the vac hose and thats it? Thanks for all the help
