I would not be posting this if i don't already search no one has the same problem as me. This is my problem installed Sr20/370cc injectors aftermartket FPR. Now when i turn my key to the on position the FPR reads 20-psi and then it drops to 0-psi. If i start my car all the way it idles at 20-psi for fuel pressure but when i try to drive it starts bucking and then shuts off, to keep it running i have to keep giving it gas. I am thinking that my stock fuel pump is not working and that i need to upgrade to a walbro 255 pump what do you guys think?

could be a few things. check to make sure fuel lines are not leaking, there is a line that lets fuel back into the fuel tank and if that line is clogged up then you can have a problem. check to see if you smell gas, and you're going to need an after market fuel pump. buying something like a walbro is inexpensive and gets the job done, also you can get a hardwire kit to make sure you get enough power supply to that pump.(or custom your own hardwire kit)

what brand fpr do you have? if you havent adjust the fpr when you installed then you would have to do it, but i doubt its the fpr since your saying that the psi drops to 0. sounds more like a fuelpump.

you want to back the nut off slightly, then turn the allen head clock wise, till pressure is at desired value. Engine running, vac removed(43.5psi is stock go 45)....

I have a megan fpr it is awesome and the second main link in my setup

also, extremely smart move stepping up to a walbro, it can handle the increased fuel pressure if desired, and will love to be ran off a relay at 13.8 volts... seriously test your voltage at idle going to the pump! mine was under 12 lol 13.8 rock steady on the relay.

o.k. so my ka-t is still not running right what i have done is adjusted my fpr to 43.5 it starts with no problem and idles o.k. but if i give it gas it bogs out and shuts off. my egr is bolcked off all of my vacuum lines are connected. I even went as far as putting back on all of my storck stuff (MAF, injectors, FPR,) the new walboro fuel pump is in and it kicks on so there is no fuel problem, but i pulled the number 2 and 4 plugs and they are black as ever so is it becuase the spark is bad i do not know i am thinking that i need to change to a colder plug don't know if that would help someone told me that i should change my coil out. (HELP)!!!

What are you using to control fuel and timing? Change your oil before you drive it, I'm sure it's got fuel in it by now.

As long as you didn't touch the block, your timing shouldn't have changed. I'm going to assume from that post, you didn't take anything internal apart.

You say you have different injectors and everything. Do you have anything to control them? You'll need a different ECU or an SAFC or something to control bigger injectors. This could be your problem...

no i did not touch the block or anything. will that is what i was thinking also that i need something to control the 370cc injectors but still i have taken them out and put back in my stock ones and it is still doning the same thing. So when i pulled my plugs they were burnt so could it be the spark. But the starts up everytime and idles fine just when i press on the gas it shuts off!?

OMFG, i thought you have something to tune for bigger injectors....when you turbo you would have to go bigger injectors and you cant just slapp on injectors and call it a day. you can blow something in an instant w/out a tune.

get an ecu tune.......that would be the best......check out http://www.efispecialist.com i heard from many that they are very good...

there are more tuners out there but here's something to start you out with...

I can't explain this... I really can't.

To the OP, rhtuners, please PLEASE read the stickies. Especially look for abc123omg's guide to Boosting The KA. Hopefully you didn't destroy your motor...

so here is the update i put in the ecu tune from EMance and what happened the same damn thing so then i decieded to take off the piping from the Throtle Body to the Intercooler and i put back on the stock plastic pipe with E60 MAF the car ran TIT! So i have deducted that i had a loose cupler. Bolted everything back up and i am boost HAPPY now just have to make it to a dyno and finish tunnig it and oh yeah also put in a OBX FMU to boot

do you have a wideband?...i heard many bad things about emance, DOnt boost happy until you can get it to the dyno or get a wideband to verify that your afr's are safe...Or else you will Boost Un-Happy.

BTW Good to know that you fixed your problem, i love to see people fix their problems instead of giving up when they're almost finish.

oh yeah no doubt i will see if my friend still has his wideband. I just took it out for a no boost drive around the block and i blew a fuel line at the bottom of the FPR i got to go to Advanced Auto Parts and pick up some Fuel Injectiong line know that's o.k. simple fix. the guy Jason from EMance was mad helpful in asking all my Q,A's. Hopefuly there will be no problem with the tune.

o.k so after months and months of being pissed off because my car is not running right i had put her in the garage. I said to my self let me go read everything possible about turboing a KAT. So after months of reading and some RD. Bam i figured it out! Read alot of post about people doing blow through and suck through MAF's and said what the hell i will give it a try. So it took my MAF off the end of the TURBO and i cut my pipe goijng to my intake. I cut after the bend placed it there then continued with an elbow cupler to the FMIC. Oh i also changed out my O2 Sensor put a colder plugs in it BRK7E and cleaned out my IACV that was filled with Carbon build up and now she runs and idles just fine. Before she start and idle for a few minutes and then when i gave her gas she would stall out every time. Then when she would stay running i would be able to drive her but then when i came to a stop sign or light she would stall again. But now that i have done what i said she runs fine no stalling hesitating or nothing. YEAH BABY! One more KA-T on the road in M.A.
