Ok so far what I changed.

The Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, Fuel Pump Relay, Starter Relay (because it was sparking)

I checked the Fpcu and all seems well now what am I missing and where is it located??

I have a 94 Q45 Not touring from what I understand.

I just need my Q45 to run. The engine turns but does not start my guess is because there is no fuel in the engine area.

Also anyone have a manual they can e-mail me?

Thanks and God BlessKrystal

When you first turn the key to on does the pump run for 5 seconds?

It does not seem as if the pump is pumping. My dad is the one who did all the work he hooked the pump up to the battery and it came on and started pumping. I was thinking it was possible that I was sold a bad Fuel Pump Relay. So we are going to exchange it tomorrow. Is there a way to bypass the FPCU so the battery powers the Fuel Pump without the FPCU perhaps with a toggle switch? I can't afford to buy a FPCU so I need to know what I can do cheapest way possible. I was sold this car from my sister and when my dad replaced the fuel pump the wiring inside the tank had slices and wires shown. It was a death trap. I still have to pay for this car since my sister made sure she made a contract for me to pay her so I have no way out of it. I paid $2000 total for this car. I need to have transportation to get to work. I have 2 kids one who is starting kindergarten in a month and I am not going to have a way to get him there. If he does not go to school I will go to jail. Right now I feel stuck. I do not have time to part out the car. And pretty hard to sell a car that does not run. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Thank you for your help and God Bless,Krystal

yes you can [temporarily] bypass the fpcu with an alligator clip to ground. this will also confirm that your fpcu is bad. check a few other recent posts, make sure your connectors are all fully mated. is the pump new?

i sent you an e-mail last week to the address in your user profile regarding a 'rebuilt' FPCU that i can sell you cheap on an exchange basis. did you get that?

I got the e-mail and I think it is a great deal But I spent all my money on the new fuel pump and have no choice but to wait for the money for the FPCU. Wondering a few things. Am I supposed to send u the money and the FPCU I have at the same time or should I wait before sending my old FPCU unil I recieve the rebuilt one from you? I am worried about doing this because if something goes wrong with this transaction well then I am screwed and have no way to work or for my kids to school I hope you understand that. Well I got to go I am going to try and take back the FP relay and see if that was the whole prob maybe it is bad lol.

tell you what--you say no buzz sound [you may have to get up close to the trunk] when you turn key on [idiot lites on, but no crank]?if so, then do the jumper thing from pin #8 on the harness to ground [sorry i don't have time to find the old thread on this, look for the tangalora posts]. turn key on again. assuming the prime failure is the fpcu, you should hear the pump going like blazes then. car should start at this point, and you *can* temporarily drive it this way. post back, and then we'll figure out how to make your fix more permanent.

Well when it cool down a little outside we are going to go out and take off the fpcu. I will need to see about borrowing a soldering iron and see where to purchase 16AWG wire any suggestions?

I appriciate all of your advice and help.

We did learn that there is fuel getting to the filter now but not pressurized enough to get to the engine so I did my research and found out that it could be the FPCU would cause low fuel pressure so I am going to do the wire and try and bypass it.

Will let you know what happens may take a couple days for me to get a soldering iron and the wire though.

\thanks

ok, i see you've been reading....couple of thoughts:1. it sounds like you're on the right track, i'll still encourage you to be methodical so we can help you hit the real problem. you say you are getting fuel flow at the filter now with the key on, but it is weak?

2. try disconnecting the fpcu harness and do the alligator jumper to ground. if your fpcu is damaged, this 'test' will get you max output from the pump. if it won't start in this condition, then you've got more problems than just the fpcu.

3. i admire your determination to solder a jumper wire for the ground path inside the fpcu. 16awg not critical, you could use 18 and you could use 14. importance is to get more copper in parallel with the trace, and a very solid solder joint at pin 8 where it leaves the unit and goes to the harness.HOWEVER: smell your unit. if it smells burned [acrid, smoke like]--you probably have bigger problems than the ground path. the power transistor are usually the next to go, then the big canister capacitor.

do #2 before #3. if you want my spare, decide before you go messing inside yours, please. basic process is you send me money and a deposit, and I'll sned you the replacement. when i get your core [can be after you receive mine] i return your deposit. we'll take the details off line. i understand your situation, i have 2 small kids, too. no worries, I've been here a while.

Got it all fixed thanks everyone for your help. It was the Fpcu and it was not properly grounded.

glad to hear you are up and running again. could you please elaborate a bit on 'not properly grounded'? you tried the jumper wire to ground?

did you then go inside your unit and add the grounding wire?

I did not go inside the unit yet. I was having a heck of a time trying to remove the fpcu from the car so fo now I made a new ground wire and jumped it as I do need a way to work. Do you have any tips on how to remove the fpcu. I left the box that is behind the seat on the deck out so it would be easier to get to later. I wish I had a book or something on this car. I have e-mailed people on this group including wes about e-mailing me copies of the book they have but have recieved no response. I still need to do a tune up as the car does have some shaking problem also going to clean the Maf and see if that helps. But If anyone has some info on how to do the tune up I would greatly appriciate. I know I need to use OEM spark plugs I seem to have most trouble with loss of power. Car is fine after I get past 30-35. I was thinking perhaps the 1st and second spark plugs were bad not sure if this could be true. Does anyone know apprix how long it takes to do a tune up on this car for the first time estimated? And what tools I would need. I was thinking about buying one of those mechanics tool set wonder if that would be enough tools though.

Well I must get going on my way to work.

Thanks for all the help GQ. I appriciate.

FSM and TSB available at http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/ .

There is not tuneup per se. Just regular maintenance.
