I noticed last month when I topped off that my fuel needle didn't go up to full and after a week of driving it randomly moves. I've been calculating my milage every time I pump gas. I calculate 14 mpg city x amount of gas I put in.

Has anyone had this issue? How did you fix it?

The most likely suspect is your fuel float is either sticking or starting to go bad and send bad signals. Check out page EL-126 in the FSM for troubleshooting steps to confirm where the problem is. If it's sticking you may be able to simply give it a good brushing/cleaning and get the movement smoothed out instead of buying a new one.

You can reference spike753's guide on replacing the fuel pump to see how to get to what you're interested in.

Good luck! :bigthumb:

I'd highly recommend following the troubleshooting steps before you do. I'd hate to see you spend the time and dime on a new unit to find out it was something else

this weekend im going to take out the float assembly from under the back seat and brush it clean and hopefully loosen up the arm and it gets fixed.
