ok i hate to start a new one but i cant find the other topic on this. i was wondering what everyone was getting for fuel mileage in the city/highway or should i say average and how many miles on their car? for my 94 im getting 17 in the city with very short trips with some stop and go traffic and i have 197000 miles on it. now for me i think thats pretty good for a 16 year old car that has had major cooling and injector issues in the past. and its still pretty close to what the window stickers say it should get in the city. anyone else getting this kind of mileage?anyone have any ideas on ways to help improve my mileage a little bit?also anybody know when the light for the gas gauge should come on? like right when the gauge gets to the E or a little befor? cause mine never has never lit up befor and i have run it down to only 2 gallons left in the tank before. i think my light is out but havnt had the time to look at it yet. opinions welcome

I ACTUALLY RAN MINE DOWN TO THE LAST DROP(WELL AT LEAST IT SEEMED LIKE IT) MY GAS gauge DOESNT REACH THE FULL MARK WHEN I FILL MINE UP, SO I FIGURED EMPTY WOULD END UP BEING ABOUT A HAIR BELOW THE (E) MARK, JUST AS THE NEEDLE PASSES THE (E) MARK THE LIGHT CAME ON.

after you get a full tank of gas and let the car idle for a few until the needle goes back up. you can then pull the gauge cluster out and the clear plastic off and move the needle to full.

I get 19-20 mpg combined. I did manage to get about 23-24mpg one year when I drove the car from Chicago to Los Angeles with liberal use of cruise control in the spring. This is on octane 94 gasoline. The minimum gasoline octane requirement is octane 91, The VG30DE is a high performance engine with specially designed injectors. I've expereimented with lower octane gasoline and have gotten lousy mileage.
