Fuel managment is something you want to have alot of, definatly not the least. Also it matters if its 9 psi out of a small turbo or not, im guessing its small like a small t3 or sr20 t25 since its cheap. You would at the very least want a $80 FMU which you can run up to ~8 psi with or the next step up would be a $100 set of 370cc injectors and a $150 used safc 1 if you are going ghetto budget style. At least the safc will give you some tunabiltiy over the crappy FMU. Id really recomend on saving up some $ and studying up a little bit and get a nice setup going, or at least a decent one, trust me it will save you headaches in the future.

+1 I agree totally, also like he said, go with the SAFC1, the 2 is like a joystick. I don't like it.

I already have the safc 2 and the stock sr injectors. the size of the turbo that i'm running is a t3/t4 it's externally wastegated to 9 psi, once again i have no boost controler. Where can i find this fmu who makes it who sells it? Would it also be wise to upgrade the fuel pump or can use the stock one, also running a fuel pressure regulator? next thing is the maf. I've heard that the ka one is fine for low boost true or false?

Well your SAFC and injectors is your fuel management already, you dont need an FMU, its one or the other. You are going to need bigger injectors to support that turbo to its full potential, you can maybe get up to 8 psi on the SR injectors. Up to 8 psi your stock mafs is fine, but again you have an SAFC so you can run a Z32 mafs in the future. You dont need a adjustable fuel pressure regulator but you can get one if you like. You do need an upgraded fuel pump, get a walrbo 255, its cheap and it works.

Do yourself a favor and get a 6lb spring and use a boost controller. Even just a cheap Ebay unit will do fine.

Your injectors are gonna be running out of breath at 9-10 psi. I'd encourage getting bigger ones and selling the ones you have, or get a very small rising-rate fpr(fmu) or adjustable fpr... just for added insurance.

get bigger injectors if you can.

They're fine for the power he expects to make (around 220whp), wouldn't you agree?

thanks for the info. Main goal is to keep the ca reliable then slowly start to add more power. At the least right i am shooting for 220 whp if anymore then i'm happy. Where is good place to get charge pipes? If anyone else is running a ka-t what kind of cooling issues come along with? For a boost controller this guy here has an avc-r wants to sell for $125 is that worth i've heard the are hard to use it came of a srt-4 i know it works i was in the car when he ws using it.
