I am trying to do some homework on fuel management for my KA.T I was thinking about the SDS Extra injector controller (4 injectors) , but i dont see many people running it. I also saw some stuff about the GReddy Emanage, and the whole Hacked MAF which seems a little ghetto. I cant run standalone because i need to pass SMOG insepction every 2 years (CA) what are some of my other options. Im looking for something effective but i definitely dont want to spend too much. I am shooting for 350hp+ thanx

How much money do you want to spend exactly?? You can always go with a JWT ECU.

Well........the SDS EIC is about $600. so im kinda leaning in that neighborhood. How much is JWT ECU ? do you have to change MAF ?

you better start thinking about addressing some serious timing issues with 350hp.Quote » I cant run standalone because i need to pass SMOG insepction every 2 years (CA) what are some of my other options. Im looking for something effective but i definitely dont want to spend too much. [/quote]

you'll NEVER pass smog with a KA-T. 350 is a pretty big goal. you really really want standalone for 350hp.

i say aim a little lower, like 250... 250 is still ALOT of hp. you'll piss yourself the first time you drive it. its alot more than what it sounds like.

look into FMU's. it seems alot of people here dont like the FMU route, but its effective, and it works. its a solid setup. you'll need to look into bigger injectors as well.

Well the SDS EIC 4 injector controller is a really good way to take care of your fuel concerns. I'd use the 2 injector method myself, once the injectors max out you can always swap in 550's and not have to weld in 4 injector bosses into your intake manifold. I'd say it's pretty much the best bang for the buck. I'm probably going to use a very similer setup when I start distributing kits next year.

As far as timing goes you can use a simple timing retard relay from MSD or similer.

What about this? I posted this a few times and no one ever answers?

http://www.technosquareinc.com/nissan.htm

"In our ECU upgrade, we feature TECHTOM ROMBOARD and tuning device to give customer "REAL" upgrade. We don't sell so called "sticker tune" ECU like the other company do."

"FUEL,Ignition,Rev limiter,Speed limiter" control on the S13 KA24E and DE.

I mean, it seams that this would be able to control fuel and ignition just like any other ECU would, and it's already wired and is 295$. :o

If this ain't an option, then I'm trying to decide wether to stick to 250whp and FMU, or 350whp and standalone.

OK yeah i was thinking the SDS extra injectors i like the 4 injecotr as opposed to the two only cuz im worried about fuel distribution. On the issue of timing what is the issue ? you cant run set timing on KA-T ? Im trying to figure out an efficient way to monitor knock and have the timing immediately retarded how are you guys addressing this? or is there some set timing that you guys are targeting and just setting up retard : boost ratio ? thanx again for theinfo !

OH as for the smog my goal is to just unbolt the turbo manifold and put the na manifold back on turn off the extra fuel and boom ! smog legal again :)

Jay, if that thing u linked to is user tuneable, then it's the cheapest standalone ever. I wonder how good the product is, their site seems a little amateur.

One "tuner" here locally uses that setup. It is user tunable, it's just a daughter board that plugs into the factory ECU and allows you to tune it via a laptop.

This kinda stuff is available for Fords and such, but this is the only thing i saw for Nissan.

I will e-mail or call them to get more information and make a a post about it! :)

I would not recommend technosquare it from what i hear from the 3000gt and stealth boys. The ones that do run it fine have additional fuel controllers. BTW technosqaure used to be G-Force.

They use similer setups over here in Japan, you get your stock ecu socketed and then have someone tune your rom for ya. Actually works pretty good. I guess it depends on how adjustable everything is. I'll look into it for everyone.

There are retard devices that will zap timing as soon as it is indicated. But I prefer to use an MSD Knock sensor. It mounts in the ****pit and gives you an alrm as well as a visual display of how much knock is ocurring. Has worked for me the last few years.

Will the MSD knock sensor retard timing when det occurs ? or how are you addressing that ? Is there some certain degree that KA24 is liking for boost or is it a rising factor that needs to be retarded as boost goes up ?

Good questions! :)

Let's say I just want to use a FMU and this MSD timing, or a SAFC, bigger injectors and this MSD, how "well" would this work?
