Fuel Lid Won't Open

I have 93 fastback and I can't seem to get the fuel lid to open. I have looked at the service manual but I can't find any info on how to solve this probelm. Is there someway to bypass the lever and open manually? I am going to need gas eventually so the sooner I can find a solution, the better. Thank you

I believe it's a mechanical lever. So, just rip up your carpet a little on that side, and try pulling on the corresponding wire. If that doesn't work, keep tracing it til you get to the source.

I've never had that problem, so I'm just going by what I know. hth.
