Fuel Lid Lock Actuator

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey Everybody,

I just signed up for the forum and being a new EX35 owner I know there is a wealth of information in forums like this. Since we purchased the EX35 pre-owned (33K miles) I have discovered a few nickel dime glitches on it. The main one is that the fuel lid lock feature is not working. The rod will not come out of the actuator to lock the door. It tries to but will not come out all the way. I have resigned myself to the fact that I just need to replace it. Can someone suggest a good parts house to purchase it from? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

Are you still within the 4 year warranty period? If so I'd let the dealer do it.

So even when your doors are locked you can still pop open the fuel door? I used to think it just didn't lock, until one day I couldn't open it and realized it is locked when the doors are locked.

NJ Guy,

Thanks for your help and guidance. I looked in my warranty booklet and you were correct. It is still under warranty. I will take it to the dealer and have them fix it. Thanks again.

I noticed the same thing after I bought my pre-owned 2008. The dealer fixed it under warranty. Check the plastic lock washer that holds the pin in place after they fix it. Mine wasn't tightened correctly and fell off when I touched it. Easy to put back and tighten by hand.
