Hello Pathfinder Forum:

96 Pathfinder: JN8AR05Y5TW044977
172,400 miles

Needed to replace Fuel Pump approx. 7 months ago, but apparently mechanic damaged FUEL LEVEL UNIT (Sensor).
They have tried playing around with it several times - but they have not been able to get it to work again.

Parts sites all are listing the part: #: 25060-0W010 as DISCONTINUED and speaking with these sites is no use - as they
are basically call centers relying on a 'central database' for parts. Their only answer is DISCONTINUED. I have spoken with
a couple of dealers directly, but they have not been able to help. I understand that the part is not being manuactured/discontinued,
but there has got to be one lying around somewhere. Any ideas? How to dealer repair departments locate 'discontinued' parts.
It has not been fun driving around 'blind' without a working fuel level indicator.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jeff

I have the same year Pathy with 177k, thankfully mine still works....assuming you checked ebay and everything else online- maybe call Nissan HQ? It has to be somewhere, you still see these cars on the road. Otherwise I would keep track of your miles assuming you know how many you can drive on full tank of gas and fill the tank prior to reaching your projected driving miles total...if its 400 miles get gas at say 350 miles or so....obviously not fun to do but not impossible.

May have to find a used one at the wrecking yard.

There are generic ones on ebay, but you would have to check for correct application.

I have an in-tank sensor unit, part #250601W610, which I think works for 1999 and later (darn!). I have it because my son's gauge doesn't work but it turned out to be the dash circuit (very common). There were quite a few tank sensors available for all years R50 at the pick-a-part (LKQ Salvage) and they were only $25.

For your unit, you can play around with it on the bench to try to fix it. If it's like our 2003 the resistance should range 10-90 ohms.
