I recently started getting the "fuel smell in cold weather" that several people have discussed in other threads on my '93 Maxima GXE (vin code H). I have tracked it down to a fuel hose that feeds the injector rail closest to the front of the vehicle. My question is....do I have to take off the intake to replace this or is there a way to get it with the intake in place? I have attached 2 photos of the connection in question. 1 of the location of the actual leak and another of the 3 fuel lines that dissapear under the intake that feed the fuel rails. If I do have to take off the intake, do I need an entire intake gasket kit or just the upper plenum gaskets (found them at http://www2.partstrain.com/sto...65426 and not sure what all I need). At the same time I will most likely go ahead and change my valve cover gaskets since they are leaking and also tackle all the vac hoses. Any input would be awesome. Also any tips to save cash since it is a little tight after the holidays....
Heres a pic of the location of the leak.... its where the hose attaches to the front fuel rail (with the small clamp and phillips head screw). Click on image to view full size...
Heres one of the 3 lines feeding under the intake (rear side of engine)..... Click on image to view full size...
