Fuel Leak/Fire

Had a scary 240 day today- While still trying to get the new motor running today, I stepped back about ten feet while my brother tried to turn it over after some adjustments. An injector O-ring gave out, fuel sprayed everywhere and I'm not sure how, but it caught fire. It only burned for about 15 seconds until i got the hose on it, but still managed to melt some fuel lines and vacuum hoses and ruin a couple injectors. Nothing permanent and thank god no one was hurt, but it was a close call and scary for my baby. The only upside to this is that i found rebuilt injectors- 4 for 140- 40 core, and they are being overnighted tomorrow. Well, sorry for the long post but just had to vent, still a little shook up about the whole thing.

thats scary **** dude. i came close to fire once in my old monte carlo. fuel line cracked at the carb and sprayed everywhere. i was lucky that i had just started it up and the motor was still cold. but i know the panic feeling.

Had my '68 GranSport backfire big time through the carb as I was looking down into it making minor adjustments at the track. Burned off my eyebrows and singed my hair and moustache... Embarassing as hell - looked like a dork at school for the next 2 weeks until they grew back... LOL.

damn man.. that sux... but not as bad as what happened to my broz BMW.. he had an 86 325i.. ran like new.. but the fule line was re routed (by my dad.. the dumb fugg) OVER THE ENGEN block.... ran for a good week.. then one day he saw a friend walking and slowed down and talked to him.. few seconds later it started blowing black smoke thru the air vents.. then the whole hood was ingolfed in flames.. him and his friend that were in the car jumped out.. but then he relized that his fuzzy dice were still in the car.. so AS the car was burning (about a 6 - 7 foot flame) he jumps back in and grabs what he can.. now for the funny part.. they go across the street and grab this ladys hose.. they use it to try and put the fire out.. she comes out and starts yelling at them (later she tryed to sue us for saying that we screwed up her whole watering system for her yard.. yeah right lady) anyways.. the fire ppl get there and use it as a traning toy basicly... braking all the windows and smashing it up.. the cops finnaly come and just make fun of him.. it was crazy.. and thats about it..

oh yeah and all this happened about 50 feet from a gas station.. what a bad place..lol
