Accidentally posted this in nissan online mechanic first, meant to here

Been having lots of troubles with my fuel injectors leaking.. I bought a set from advance auto parts as prescribed on searching up the problem here.. Way too big, gas flowed out like a fountain.

Tried again with a different o-ring that I found listed with a part number on here, the "kit" only contained 1 o-ring along with 2 rubber boots.. for 8$ so I got that and 3 I had the worker there match to it (no way in hell am I going to spend 40$ on a miniscule piece of rubber), went home and installed those..

Afterwards, only one SLIGHTLY leaked, I thought I was in the clear.. then a few days later all but one injector was completely soaked with gas.

Well ok, I figure I would go somewhere that cant screw it up, so I go to my local nissan dealer and ask them for 90 240sx fuel injector o-rings, they look and find some, and give them to me free because they had no price listed.

Took them home and tried installing, Don't even fit into the fuel bar.. way too thick..

Is it not possible to find some o-rings that fit for this car? There's no NAPA out here or else i'd try them..

and not to mention, just touching the wires on the injectors cause the idle to go nuts, so am I going to have to replace those too? and how?

Are you lubricating the o-rings before putting them in or are you doing it dry.

Lubricating of course, used all purpose automotive grease

Are you sure they're too big? The whole point is that they are tight enough to hold back forty-something psi.

Pretty sure, I tried as hard as I could to push it into the fuel bar, but it's just flat out too thick

I dont know about sohc, but with my dohc I could not push the injector in all the way..it then snapped in.

The pic is of my stock DOHC o-rings compared to quarters.

Yeah my injectors are much different, at the part were the injector goes inside the fuel bar theres the o-ring I need, and my o-rings are like half an inch wide

and I dunno about using a screwdriver to wedge the o-rings inside, from reading around here it said to just push them straight in, and becareful cause they can rip easy.. and the o-rings I had were just way too thick

Did you try getting some from Deatsche Werks? I'm sending my SOHC injectors to get reworked and plan on getting all the o-rings from them.

No, dont wedge the o-rings in with screwdriver. The large screwdriver is only touching top of fuel injector. I think a nut driver with a 10mm head would work.

Well I think i'll try the o-rings from deatschwerks, they GOTTA fit..

while i'm on the topic though, on one of my fuel injectors, the plastic tip was cracked in half (half missing).. and the little pin was like sticking out.. is that injector no good? i've been riding on it since I got the car and it felt fine to me (albeit I don't know too much about cars)

and another of my injectors had a crack going down side of the tip, similar to the other but not broken all the way yet..one looked fine, and another was a different color (i'm assuming its been replaced)

and also, what about them wires that go to the injectors? if they change my engine's idle when wiggled does that mean they need to be replaced? or do I need to clean the terminals?

do you mean the plastic tip i circled in red? I think those are replaceable. dont know how critical they are. Not sure about the loose connection. if you cant fix, i guess you have to replace.

those caps, I think deatsch can replace, but I think those need to be pressed on.
