Hi everybody,
I have a Rogue 2008 on 40 000km and I received a call from my dealership that they have to perform fuel injectors cleaning. My question is - is this really necessary to be done on this mileage?
I do not see such a service in my maintaince guide for this km or months.
If anybody have experience with this please share.
Thank you.

It is a scam, you don't need to do except if you feel a big loss of performance from the engine.

If you feel that your Rogue Idles differently, lost of acceleration power, and has worst fuel economy then you should get new injectors or clean them.
But other than that, your dealer has some sticky figures.

I've commented on fuel injector cleaning in the past. Here is my take on it:

I really take offense to dealer shops calling you up and stating "you must clean your injectors". To me this is borderline malpractice, they are stating that this is "Required" when it is not. Rather this is their recommendation and at only 40,000 km I'd say their motivation is profit, because if this truly was required it would be in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. If they want to present this to you as an option when you're in the shop and make it clear that this is only a suggestion, that's fine. But to present it otherwise as they're doing is just shamefull.

If you are experiencing drivability issues, rough idle, decreased efficency then this process is something to consider, but it is not a programmable maintenance item.

Hey Maddog, The dealership might want to give you a free fuel injector cleaning. Why else, would they call you on that.

(And then He wakes up and realizes that it was all a dream.)

I guess the cleaners in a bottle and the gasoline with all the detergents are useless these days. :picard:
